Configuring Mozilla to use the Monash Directory Service

This will enable you to set up Mozilla to auto-look up Monash e-mail addresses as you type.


1. In Mozilla, go to the "Edit | Preferences..." menu option.

2. Go to the "Mail & Newsgroups | Addressing..." menu option.
(You may need to click on the + option next to Mail & Newsgroups to expand the menu).
Ensure that 'Local address Books' and 'Directory Server' are ticked.
Then click on the Edit Directories button.

3. This will bring up the LDAP Directory Servers dialog box.
Click on Add

4. This will bring up a dialog box prompting for the following fields:

Name: Monash University Directory Service
Hostname: directory.monash.edu.au
Base DN: o=Monash University, c=AU
Port Number: 389
(leave 'Bind DN' and 'Use secure connection' unchecked)

When you have filled out the dialog box, it should look like this:

Then click on [OK]. The configuration is complete!
